Fr. Joseph S. McMahon

Fr. Joseph S. McMahon

Fr. McMahon, a graduate of Mt. Angel Seminary, completed his theology studies at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Portland on June 29, 1968.

He came to Our Lady of the Lake parish in 1998 after serving as pastor of Blessed Sacrament (Portland) and St. Henry (Gresham) parishes.

A former director of the Archdiocesan Office for Worship, he is a member of the Archdiocesan Liturgy Commission.

Fr. Robert Wolf

Fr. Robert Wolf

This is Fr. Robert Wolf's first parish assignment as a priest. He was ordained June 5, 2010 by Archbishop Vlazny.

He was born in Salem, and attended elementary and secondary schools in Keizer, graduating from McNary High School in 1997. He attended Lane Community College and Western Oregon University before entering Mount Angel Seminary. He received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy at Mount Angel in 2005.

His ministry training was at St. Edward Parish in Keizer, Marion Estates in Sublimity, Christ the King Parish in Milwaukie, Our Lady of the Mountain in Ashland, St. Anthony Parish in Forest Grove and Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.


Joan Codd

School Principal

Joan Codd

The principal is the religious and instructional leader of the school, and is involved in other areas, from greeting the children in the morning to school finance. She received a graduate degree from Idaho State University. Additional graduate work was completed at Gonzaga University, Washington State University, and Portland State University. Educational administration was the focus of her education, and Catholic education has been her focus professionally. She began her career as a dean in the Student Life Office at Gonzaga. Later, she moved to Portland with her family and took a position at St. Mary's Academy where she directed their counseling center and taught in the religion department. In 1992, she became principal at Our Lady of the Lake School.

Deacon Charles Corey

Deacon Charles Corey

Deacon Charlie is a graduate of Boston College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. Deacon Charlie and his wife Beth have been members of the parish since 1986. In 2004, Deacon Charlie earned a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from the University of Portland. In September 2006 he retired from the business world where he had held a variety of positions in the high tech industry. In December 2006, he was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate by Archbishiop Vlazny and appointed to Our Lady of the Lake Parish as a non-paid member of the staff. Deacon Charlie is involved in social ministry and works with the Administrative Council and Pastoral Councils in their planning functions.


Lawrence Latuszek

Lawrence Latuszek

Lawrence Latuszek is originally from northern Michigan. He attended Catholic schools until serving in the Army for 4 years. Larry is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. His 30 years of corporate accounting experience were with International Harvester and ConAgra Foods. He held positions as senior systems analyst, accounting manager, controller, and regional finance manager. As Business Manager at OLL, Larry is responsible for all aspects of parish accounting and facilities management.

Kim Calkins

Kim Calkins

Kim Calkins is originally from Connecticut, but lived in 12 states before settling in Oregon. She has over 30 years of business development experience including corporate and non-profit development. She has a BA in Communications and a Masters in Business Administration. She is a CFRE and a member of WVDO. As Development Director for the Parish and School, Kim is responsible for the Building in Faith Capital Campaign, planned giving, foundation and corporate grants, annual offertory campaign, and advises on the school endowment.


Laura Patton

Director of Religious Education

Laura Patton

Laura Patton directs the Religious Education program and sacramental preparation for Pre-K to 6th grade, Baptisms and First Holy Communion, and RCIA for adults. She is originally from Ohio and migrated to Chicago with family during her high school and college years. Laura has a BS in Education from Illinois State and worked many years as a special education teacher for both public and private schools. After receiving her Masters in Theology from the University of Dallas Braniff Graduate School, she worked five wonderful years as a Pastoral Associate/Religious Education Director at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Portland Oregon. 

 

 

Sister Janina Kokorowski, SNJM

Sister Janina Kokorowski, SNJM

Sr. Janina's position embraces Religious Education from pre-school through adulthood including sacramental preparation for children and adults. She has served several years as a first grade teacher, ten years as an elementary school principal, and two decades as a Director of Religious Education in the Archdioceses of Portland and Seattle. Sr. Janina holds a Masters degree in Education from Portland State University and a degree in theology from the Franciscan School of Theology at Berkeley, CA. She did post graduate work at Fordham University in New York and at the School of Applied Theology in Oakland.


Jason Kidd

Youth Ministry Coordinator

Jason Kidd

Jason Kidd graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. He is currently completing his Masters degree at the University of Notre Dame.

Jason's background reflects over a decade of developing and managing Catholic Youth programs, both in Arizona and here, at Our Lady of the Lake. His areas of ministry include the Life Teen high school youth ministry, Edge junior high youth ministry, high school Confirmation sacramental preparation, and involvement in young adult ministry. Jason's goal is "to share Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Church through evangelization and catechesis of young people."

Lynne Huston

Music Coordinator

Lynne Huston

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Lynne began her career in Pastoral Music in 1970. She received her Bachelors Degree in Music from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She established her music studio in 1980 and has taught piano, performed in the piano/marimba duo Nouveau Duo, and recorded three albums. In 2005 she studied at the first SummerSong for Pastoral Musicians at the University of Notre Dame. As organist and pianist for the parish, Lynne accompanies Sunday and Holy Day liturgies, the Choir and Youth Musicians, and rehearses with Cantors. She participates in the Music Preparation Group and is on the Liturgy Team.


Christine Shepard

Christine Shepard

Christine Shepard is the Communications Specialist/Office Manager. Originally from the Chicago area, Chris has lived in Oregon for over 30 years. She trained in business management at Lane Community College and computer support at the University of Oregon. She has an extensive background in the graphic arts. Prior to coming to Our Lady of the Lake Chris worked as Reprographics Manager for the City of Eugene, Office Manager for the Commission on Children & Families for Lane County, Office Manager and Account Representative for Crestec, Inc. in Portland, and as a residential real estate broker in the Eugene area.

Robin Hudson

Robin Hudson

Robin joined the staff after returning to the Portland area from a twelve-year hiatus east of the Mississippi. A graduate of Portland State University, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Advertising/ Communications.

Robin's belongs to the OLL choir and volunteers with the Art and Environment Committee. 

 


Diana Hughes

Administrative Assistant

Diana HughesDiana's administrative focus is on the Parish databases. Her experience ranges from computer programming and systems analysis to systems and project management. Diana retired from Corporate America and moved to Oregon a few years ago. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a graduate of Cardinal Stritch College where she received a BA degree in English and Mathematics. Diana worked for 36 years in the area of Management Information Systems, the last 20 at Bank of America in Walnut Creek, California.

Julie Stoltz

Bookkeeper

Julie StoltzJulie has been a parishioner of OLL for over 15 years, and has been an active volunteer in many of our ministries, including a term on the Administrative Council.
Julie comes well qualified to take over the bookkeeping functions of the parish and school, having received an MBA from Marylhust University, as well as being the owner/operator of Executive Accounting, Inc. for 8 years.

Cheryl Kose

Campaign Assistant

Cheryl Kose

Cheryl Kose is originally from just outside Detroit, Michigan. She  traveled extensively for ten years courtesy of her husband and the United States Navy. Her son was born in Yokosuka Japan, and her daughter was born in Jacksonville, Florida. She and her family moved to Beaverton 16 years ago.

Cheryl has extensive administrative experience in government, business, medical transcription and software fields. As campaign assistant, Cheryl processes campaign pledges and fundraising proceeds and sends out statements and campaign materials.
