Returning Catholics Ministry

The Returning Catholics Ministry is an outreach program to welcome back returning Catholics to their "home", the Church, and to help them explore their faith and future with the Church.

Are you a Catholic who has been hurt by the Church? Perhaps, you do not understand the way the Church has changed or perhaps your life has become too hectic and you have drifted away from the Church. For whatever reason, we welcome you back to the Catholic Church.

Draws Upon Conversation and Sharing Among Catholics

The Returning Catholic Ministry at Our Lady of the Lake Church invites inactive and semi-active Catholics to come together to discuss their faith. The "Awakening Faith" program is structured to invite conversation and bonding between people. The resulting bonds help them see their connection to their Catholic faith and inspire them to learn and grow in their faith. Dynamics of sharing and conversation in an open and confidential way, with strong welcome and hospitality, reinforce the sense of connection...and re-connection.

"Awakening Faith" sessions begin on Wednesday October 5, 2011 and run through Wednesday, November 9, 2011. There are four additional weeks that are optional and may be added after June 6th. Sessions will be held in the faculty room of Our Lady of the Lake School, 716 A. Avenue, Lake Oswego, OR 97034. Sessions run from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Session 1:     Spirituality: What's the Buzz?
Session 2:     Who is Jesus?
Session 3:     Do We need the Spirit?
Session 4:     Can I Accept God's Mercy?
Session 5:     Can Mass Make my Life Meaningful?
Session 6:     The Church and me
