Pictures needed for 120th Anniversary Celebration

This is a year of big change at Our Lady of the Lake. In addition to the new construction at the parish, we will also be celebrating our 120th anniversary as a parish on October 12th. To help celebrate our history, a committee has been hard at work pulling together pictures for display in the church this fall.

We are looking for pictures to help document our history. Areas where we need pictures include:

  • Any pictures of priests that have served our parish.

Any pictures from before 1960 that include...

  • Parish school; the Sacred Heart School and the early days of the OLL School.

  • Church pictures; the original Sacred Heart Parish, the temporary church in the Gym and our current church in its early days
  • The Sacred Heart Cemetery, from any time frame.
  • The convent building (the current Parish office)
  • Pictures of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, either teaching or at parish events.

These pictures will be entered into the Our Lady of the Lake archives and will also be entered into the Local History Collection of the Lake Oswego Public Library.

Please bring your pictures to one of the Sunday morning Masses (7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM) on either July 18 or July 25. Committee members will be available in the parish hall to log, scan and return your photos/mementos.

Please bring as much information as possible with the photos including the spelling of names and dates when the picture was taken.

Help build our parish community by preserving our past.

For more information contact Deacon Charlie at charlesc@ollparish.com or at the parish office 503-636-7687.
