Tree Clearing
The bushes on Eighth Avenue were removed to create the wider double entrance and exits onto Eighth. Many of the trees are coming down to make room for the new parking lot and field. The trees will be recycled into wood chips and, when possible, fire wood. Many of the trees on the parish property will be saved. You can see the large trees have fences around them to protect them from damage during the site work construction. A silt fence has been placed around the property to prevent erosion during the construction process. Click here for the pictures of the ongoing construction.
Phase One
This first phase will provide 25% more parking for the parish and school. The demolition of the two houses at the corner of Evergreen and the alley are included in Phase One. The new parking lot will have two exits to the west onto Eighth Avenue and retain the exit to the alley on the east side. The playground equipment will be moved and reinstalled slightly to the West of its current location. The site work includes landscaping on Evergreen Avenue and Eighth Avenue.
