We come to celebrate the Sunday Eucharist as one community, joined together in the Body of Christ.
"Mother Church earnestly desires that all the faithful should be led to
that fully conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations
which is demanded by the very nature of the liturgy. Such participation
by the Christian people as a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, a redeemed people (1 Pet. 2:9; cf. 2:4-5), is their right and duty
by reason of their baptism." (Sacrosanctum Concilium 14)
What are these Ministries?
Liturgical Ministers assist the Assembly in participating in the glorious celebration of Sunday Mass.
Liturgy Team
Plans and coordinates the liturgical life of the parish. Quarterly meetings, additional meetings as necessary. The team conducts planning for both long range and in-season liturgies, reviews and critiques past liturgies, and fosters liturgical formation within the parish. The team interfaces with the parish staff liturgy group. This combination of lay and clergy functions well together and each provides a unique component to the overall liturgical balance of the parish.
Seasonal Mangers for Liturgy from the Liturgy team are guided by the scripts for Sunday and the feast day liturgies. Seasonal mangers attend to the countless details of set-up, implementation and clean up. Seasonal managers brief the liturgy team on the status of their assigned season well in advance of the season; they also provide critical analysis on how it went and what lessons learned are important.

Mass Captains
There is always one Mass captain assigned for each Mass. This responsibility included accounting for all the ministers scheduled to participate, interfacing with the presider on specific details of the Mass, and ensuring that substitutes are clearly briefed on what is happening for the liturgy. See Mass captain link for a description of duties.

Eucharistic Ministers
(Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion):
Designated parishioners who assist with the distribution of Communion at Sunday Mass under both forms (bread and cup). Training and certification with commissioning held annually. Additional retreats and workshop are scheduled throughout the year. Youth who have received Confirmation are eligible to serve. See Eucharistic Minister Link for a description of duties.
All Eucharist Ministers should show the greatest reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist by their demeanor, attire and their willingness to serve. Please arrive early. This gives you enough time to prepare in the manner explained below, welcome people as they enter the church, and reverently participate in Mass when it begins. Please note that if you cannot serve at the assigned time: find another minister to substitute; inform the Mass Captain of the substitution; and advise the Mass Captain if you cannot find a substitute.
