Legacy Gifts
Would you like to be a $100,000 or million-dollar contributor? Life insurance and planned gifts allows you to make a substantial gift at an affordable cost to you.
Life Insurance
You may donate to the campaign by making Our Lady of the Lake Parish the owner and beneficiary of your insurance policy. If you are finished paying for the gifted policy, your gift is the replacement value or the cost basis of the policy, whichever is less. You may also donate a life insurance policy on which you are still making payments. Annual premiums are fully deductible as charitable gifts and often can be paid up after only five or seven years.
Planned Gifts
Planned giving is the process of carefully selecting the best method and asset for making a charitable gift. Such a gift can enable you to take full advantage of the tax laws to accomplish you financial and charitable goals. Planned gifts can be made through, among others:
- Bequests by Will or Living Trust
- Charitable Gift Annuities
- Charitable Lead or Remainder Trusts
- Beneficiary benefits from IRA’s, Pensions, or Financial Accounts.
We invite you to meet with us to explore the splendid opportunities available for planning a truly satisfying gift. We also would be grateful if you inform us of your plans for a legacy gift.
Employee Matching Grants can Double Your Pledge
Many employers are using matching grants as a way to fund non-profit organizations that are important to their employees and retirees. Typically they have information on employee/retiree matching grants in the human resource department or on the company intranet. We have a brochure here in the OLL Capital Campaign office that lists over 15,000 companies who will match your gift to a non-profit organization.
Local Companies who will match your gift:
AIG ▪ Alaska Airlines ▪ Applied Materials ▪ Bank of America ▪ Boeing ▪ Digimarc ▪ Eaton Company ▪ Exxon Mobil Corp ▪ Hanna Anderson ▪ Home Depot ▪ Huron Consulting Group ▪ Iberdrola ▪ IBM ▪ Intel ▪ JP Morgan Chase ▪ Key Bank ▪ Mentor Graphics ▪ Merrill Lynch ▪ Metronics ▪ Nike ▪ Novartis ▪ Oracle ▪ Pacificorp ▪ PGE ▪ Prudential Financial ▪ Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield ▪ Rio Tinto Minerals ▪ Rockwell Collins ▪ Standard Insurance ▪ State Farm Insurance ▪ Sun Microsystems ▪ Synopsis ▪ Tektronix ▪ THS Capital Group ▪ UBS ▪ UPS ▪ US Bank ▪ Verizon ▪ Wachovia ▪ Wells Fargo
Memorial Gifts
One great way to support our campaign, make some of the key gifts that we need,
and pay tribute to someone that you care about is through a memorial or tribute
gift. In fact, there are many memorial and tribute gift opportunities available that
are part of our project and campaign that give donors the unique opportunity to
designate their gift to a particular portion of the project and dedicate that area or
item in honor or memory of those you choose.
Let's say, for example, that you want to recognize in a special way your living or
deceased parents, a child, sibling, relative or friend or maybe one of our helper
priests or our current or former pastor. Simply pick a gift item from the list of
opportunities available and pledge the qualifying gift amount required - either individually or by pooling your pledge with those of other family members or friends.
Then the parish will work with you to develop special lettering, a permanent plate
or plaque that will let people know that a special gift has been made and to whom
the gift is dedicated.
This is a great way to actually make two gifts - one to the parish and one to those
who you care about most.
